Free Deferment and Video Access Extension
- For the purpose of the terms and conditions under this section, an “exam sitting” refers to the official ACCA examination period (i.e. March, June, September, or December) as published by ACCA. Each exam sitting constitutes one (1) examination session, regardless of the number of papers taken by the student. The exam sitting stated on the invoice issued and in these terms and conditions applies specifically to the subject the student has registered for under our course. Where a student is enrolled in more than one subject, each subject will be treated as having its own separate exam sitting as stated on the invoice issued.
- Video access is provided up to the exam sitting agreed upon and confirmed in both the WhatsApp conversation and the Google Form submitted by the student. In the event of any discrepancy between these records, clarification will be made directly with the student. The final agreed exam sitting will also be clearly stated on the invoice issued. Students are responsible for reviewing the invoice and notifying us immediately if there are any discrepancies.
- Free deferment and video access extension beyond the stated exam sitting (as shown on the invoice) is a benefit that may be granted at our sole discretion and is not an entitlement. Approval is not automatic and will depend on our assessment of student's continuous commitment to studies from the date of registration (i.e. date of invoice) up to the stated exam sitting (as shown on the invoice), as well as compliance with all other terms and conditions outlined in this section.
- For the purpose of assessing student's continuous commitment to studies as specified in item 3 above, the following factors will generally be taken into consideration (non-exhaustive):
- Actively watching the class videos (viewing activity can be monitored).
- Students who do not watch the videos and claim to rely solely on reading the notes will not be considered as having demonstrated sufficient commitment, as the course is primarily delivered through video lessons and live Zoom classes.
- Students must ensure the access of video is made from own personal account and device so that viewing activity is properly recorded by the system. Watching through a shared or borrowed device may result in the viewing activity not being captured, and such cases will not be accepted as evidence of engagement.
- Asking questions or seeking clarification via WhatsApp.
- Interacting during live Zoom classes in a way that shows genuine engagement (attendance for live classes is not compulsory, as recordings are provided).
- If a student has sat for the exam but failed to achieve a passing mark, a score of 40 marks or above will generally be considered a positive indicator of commitment and effort.
- For students enrolled in intensive revision classes, in addition to the above, the students must have sat for the exam in the original exam sitting as stated on the invoice. This shall be evidenced by the supporting documents specified in item no.7 below.
- Actively watching the class videos (viewing activity can be monitored).
- Students must have a genuine intention to sit for the exam in the relevant exam sitting when requesting a free deferment and video access extension. Requests from students who do not intend to attempt the exam will not be approved. We reserve the right to request proof of exam registration (such as a screenshot of the exam entry confirmation from the student's myACCA account) to verify the student’s intention before approving any free deferment and video access extension.
- Students' professional conduct towards the lecturer and administrative staff will be taken into consideration when reviewing free deferment and video access extension request. Disrespectful, rude, or abusive behaviour, whether in person or through digital communication channels such as WhatsApp, email or phone calls, may result in the request being rejected or the students being disqualified from eligibility for free deferment, video access extension, or any future special consideration. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes inappropriate or disrespectful conduct based on context and communication records.
- Students who apply for a free deferment and video access extension are required to clearly state the intended exam sitting for which the free deferment and video access is being requested, provide a clear written explanation for the reasons to make the request, and submit supporting documents listed below as part of the application. (Note: The instructions to obtain these documents is available at this link: Free Deferment and Video Access Extension Supporting Documents)
- A latest full ACCA exam transcript (in PDF) from the student's myACCA account showing all attempt history (including both passes and fails); and
- A latest statement of account (in PDF) from the student's myACCA account.
- Upon receiving a request for free deferment and video access extension, we reserve the right to seek further clarification from the student regarding study progress, level of commitment, and intention to sit for the exam. This may include asking follow-up questions or requesting additional information to better understand the student's situation before a final decision is made. As part of this process, we may also inquire about the student's study plan and preparation strategy for the upcoming exam sitting, as a means to assess student's future commitment to studies. In certain cases, we may require student to register for the exam and to furnish the relevant proof of registration as specified in item 7 before any approval is granted. Failure to provide a satisfactory or timely responses to such inquiries or to submit the requested supporting documents may result in the result being rejected.
- Maximum free deferment and video access extension period
- For full course, the maximum free deferment and video access period allowed is for the next two (2) consecutive exam sittings immediately following the original exam sitting as stated on the invoice. However, the total duration of video access and support (including any free deferment and video access extension) shall not exceed four (4) consecutive exam sittings or one (1) year in total, whichever comes first, counted from the date of registration (i.e. date of invoice).
- For intensive revision classes, the maximum free deferment and video access period allowed is for the next one (1) exam sitting immediately following the original exam sitting stated on the invoice. However, the total duration of video access and support (including any free deferment and video access extension) shall not exceed two (2) consecutive exam sittings or six (6) months in total, whichever comes first, counted from the date of registration (i.e. date of invoice).
- In exceptional circumstances, a longer free deferment and video access period may be considered. Students must submit supporting documents for the exceptional circumstances as proof together with a clear written explanation before such requests can be reviewed and approved.
-
Inability to demonstrate commitment or engagement due to exceptional circumstances
-
In cases where a student is unable to demonstrate commitment or engagement due to exceptional circumstances, such circumstances may be taken into consideration provided that the student submits valid supporting documents (e.g., medical certificate, official letter) together with a clear written explanation for review. Approval in such cases remains subject to our discretion.
-
For the avoidance of doubt, reasons solely related to being busy with work commitments, occupied with university or degree studies, and/or managing other ACCA subjects shall not be considered exceptional circumstances under this item, as it remains the student’s responsibility to manage time and commitments effectively.

-
Settlement of overdue instalment payments
-
Before submitting any request for a free deferment and video access extension, students must ensure that all overdue instalment payments have been fully settled. Requests will not be approved if there are any overdue instalment payments at the time of submission or at the time of processing the free deferment and video access extension request, regardless of any prior communication accepting provisional acceptance.
-
For the avoidance of doubt, settlement of all instalment payments does not guarantee approval as all requests remain subject to the terms and conditions stated on this page and are determined at our sole discretion. As stated in the registration page (https://tyacca.com/registration), students are required to make payments according to the agreed instalment schedule. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course.

- Students who have been previously granted a free deferment and video access extension are not automatically eligible for further free deferments and video access extension. Any subsequent request for free deferment and video access extension will be subject to our review and assessment, and must comply with all the terms and conditions outlined in this section. Approval in such cases remains at our discretion.
- For students whose free deferment and video access extension requests are not approved, there may be an option to rejoin the course at a discounted fee. Eligibility, applicable conditions, and the discounted fee will be determined after the decision is made and will be communicated directly to the student. In certain cases, we may require the student to register for the exam and to furnish the relevant proof of registration as specified in item no.7 in order to be eligible for the discounted fee. Failure to provide satisfactory or timely proof of registration may result in students not eligible to rejoin the course at a discounted fee.
- All decisions regarding free deferment, video access extension, and discounted rejoin eligibility are final, made at our sole discretion, and not subject to appeal.
Account Usage and Sharing
- Each student account is strictly personal and may only be used by the registered student. Sharing login details or granting access to any other individual is prohibited.
- To ensure account integrity and platform security, our system automatically captures and analyses data such as IP address, device type, login date and time, and account activity. The system may use this data to detect and flag suspicious activities that could indicate account sharing or misuse.
- The platform only allows one device to be logged in at any given time. Concurrent access from multiple devices will not be permitted by the system.
- Students may change login device when necessary. For security purposes, a verification email will be sent, and the student must enter the verification code received via email on the platform before access is granted.
- If an account is found to be misused (including, but not limited to, any attempt to sell, transfer or share access), we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account without refund. This policy is in place to protect the integrity of our courses and ensure a fair and secure learning environment for all students.
